If you've ever been curious about life as a postal worker, complete with the nerve-wracking stress of making speedy deliveries under intense pressure, then the upcoming satirical story-based puzzler Boxbound might just be your next favorite game.
In Boxbound, you take on the role of a postal worker alongside your fellow employee, Peter. The gameplay is deceptively simple: you need to fit variously-shaped boxes onto a snaking grid before making deliveries as you navigate the city streets, dodging obstacles left and right. But the game throws a twist into the mix with unexpected events like power outages and debris that you'll need to clear from the grid.
What makes Boxbound truly unique is the dynamic outside world that's constantly in motion while you're working. Peter, your good friend and colleague, keeps you updated on these bizarre and ever-changing events that drastically affect your job in increasingly weird ways.
Neither snow, nor rain... This doesn't even begin to cover the functionally limitless number of levels in Boxbound or the additional shapes of packages you'll unlock as you progress. Just a glance at the trailer hints at the whacky, weird, and somewhat sinister experience that awaits players.
Set to release on March 31st, Boxbound promises to deliver a distinctive charm that will keep players coming back for more. Personally, while the gameplay itself might not immediately grab me, seeing Peter in his colorful outfits and the indication of chaotic and strange external events—including shipping everything from regular packages to explosives—piques my curiosity. I feel compelled to find out what this game is all about!
