The teaser image shared by Bethesda on Twitter/X, featuring a prominent "IV" and a background reminiscent of iconic Oblivion art, strongly suggests what fans have been eagerly anticipating: a remaster of the beloved game.
Rumors about an Oblivion remake have circulated for years, gaining momentum with recent leaks. The earliest hint came from a 2020 Bethesda release schedule leak during the FTC vs. Microsoft trial in 2023, which mentioned an Oblivion remaster slated for fiscal year 2022. Although that window passed, the possibility of the project's cancellation seemed plausible at the time. However, new leaks surfaced in January of this year, describing the project as a comprehensive remake developed by Bethesda with assistance from Virtuos. Last week's leaks from Virtuos' website further solidified these rumors, showcasing images of the remake in development.
If these recent leaks hold true, The Elder Scrolls: Oblivion Remastered will be available on PC, Xbox, and PlayStation. Fans can look forward to a Deluxe Edition, which will include the iconic horse armor, in addition to the standard version.
Be sure to tune in tomorrow for the official confirmation and to discover more details about this highly anticipated remaster.
