Atomfall: New Gameplay Trailer Unveils Post-Apocalyptic England
Rebellion Developments' upcoming first-person survival game, Atomfall, plunges players into a chilling alternate 1960s England, devastated by nuclear catastrophe. A recent seven-minute gameplay trailer offers a substantial look at the game's mechanics and setting. Fans of Fallout and STALKER will find familiar elements in Atomfall's exploration of quarantine zones, dilapidated villages, and abandoned research bunkers.
The trailer showcases the core gameplay loop: scavenging resources, crafting essential items, and engaging in combat against robotic threats and fanatical cultists. While the initial weaponry appears relatively standard (a cricket bat, revolver, shotgun, and bolt-action rifle), the trailer highlights upgrade systems, promising a wider arsenal to discover. Crafting extends beyond weapons, encompassing healing items and tactical tools like Molotov cocktails and sticky bombs. A metal detector aids in locating hidden supplies and crafting components.
Character progression involves unlocking skills across four categories: melee combat, ranged combat, survival techniques, and physical conditioning. This skill tree allows players to customize their approach to the challenging environment.
Atomfall is scheduled for release on March 27th for Xbox, PlayStation, and PC platforms. It will be available on Xbox Game Pass from launch day. Rebellion plans to release another in-depth video soon, so stay tuned for further updates.
