Assassin's Creed Shadows' "Claws of Awaji" DLC Leaks on Steam
A Steam leak has reportedly revealed details about the first DLC for Assassin's Creed Shadows, titled "Claws of Awaji." This expansion promises a significant amount of new content for players.
The upcoming Assassin's Creed Shadows, set in 16th-century feudal Japan, marks the franchise's first foray into East Asia. Players will control dual protagonists, the Samurai Yasuke and the Shinobi Naoe, navigating a turbulent historical period. The game's development has been fraught with challenges, including negative reactions to character reveals and multiple delays.
According to Insider Gaming, a now-deleted Steam update revealed information about "Claws of Awaji." The leak suggests the DLC will introduce a new region, weapon type, skills, gear, and abilities, adding over 10 hours of gameplay. Pre-ordering the game will reportedly grant access to the DLC and a bonus mission.
This leak follows the game's recent delay to March 20, 2025. Initially slated for November 15, 2024, and then postponed to February 14, 2025, the game's release has been pushed back again, citing the need for further polish and refinement.
Ubisoft, the game's publisher, faces uncertainty amidst rumors of a potential Tencent buyout. This speculation comes after a challenging period for the company, marked by underperforming titles like XDefiant and Star Wars Outlaws. As Ubisoft Quebec prepares for Shadows' launch, the company's future remains somewhat unclear.
