In 2022, Innersloth transformed the gaming landscape with their groundbreaking virtual reality version of Among Us, which received widespread acclaim. Now, the studio is pushing boundaries once again with the announcement of Among Us 3D. This new iteration promises to deliver the beloved classic experience but through a fully immersive first-person perspective, and you won't need a VR headset to dive in.
Gamers can look forward to the familiar core mechanics of Among Us, now reimagined for traditional gaming setups. A teaser trailer has already given fans a sneak peek into how tasks, meetings, and sabotage will unfold through their character's eyes. Excitingly, players will have the opportunity to experience this innovative mode firsthand during Steam's upcoming "Game On" festival, where a free demo will be available for testing.
While an official release date for Among Us 3D has not been set, the game will initially launch on PC. It will be optimized for seamless keyboard and mouse control, featuring an updated interface that enhances accessibility for all players. Additionally, cross-play functionality will bridge the gap between Among Us 3D and Among Us VR, allowing players from both platforms to connect and play together. However, the original Among Us will remain a standalone experience, separate from these new versions.
To further enrich the gameplay and community experience, Innersloth is planning to introduce a new in-game currency called Stardust in the coming months. This currency will expand customization options, enabling players to personalize their avatars in unique ways and contribute to the game's ongoing development and evolution.
