MAME4droid: Your Android Arcade Gateway
MAME4droid (0.139u1), developed by David Valdeita (Seleuco), brings the classic arcade experience to your Android device. This port of the popular MAME 0.139 emulator boasts support for over 8000 ROMs, offering a vast library of retro gaming fun.
Important Note: MAME4droid is an emulator only; it does not include ROMs or copyrighted material. You must supply your own ROMs.
System Requirements & Performance:
Designed for dual-core Android devices, MAME4droid's performance varies depending on your device's specifications. While powerful devices can handle many titles, expect some older and more demanding games (like Outrun and Mortal Kombat) to run at reduced speed or with compatibility issues, especially on less powerful hardware. A 1.5GHz dual-core processor is recommended for optimal performance with these titles. Given the large number of supported games, performance will naturally vary. The developer cannot provide support for individual game compatibility.
Installation & ROMs:
After installation, place your MAME-compatible zipped ROMs in the /sdcard/MAME4droid/roms folder. This version only supports the '0.139' ROM set.
