The FreeStyle LibreLink app is now approved for use with both the FreeStyle Libre and FreeStyle Libre 2 sensors, revolutionizing how you can monitor your glucose levels. With just a simple scan using your smartphone, you can keep track of your glucose readings. If you're using the FreeStyle Libre 2 sensor, you'll benefit from automatic glucose readings updated every minute directly in the FreeStyle LibreLink app, along with crucial alarms for low or high blood sugar levels.
With the FreeStyle LibreLink app, you can:
- View your current glucose result, trend arrow, and glucose history
- Receive low or high glucose alarms with FreeStyle Libre 2 sensors
- Access reports on time spent in target range and daily trends
- Share your data, with your consent, with your doctor and family
Compatibility with Smartphones
The app's compatibility can vary based on the phone and operating system you use. For detailed information on compatible devices, please visit http://FreeStyleLibre.com.
Using Your App and Reader with the Same Sensor
Remember, alarms can be set up on either your FreeStyle Libre 2 reader or your phone, but not simultaneously on both. To receive alarms on your phone, you must start the sensor using the app. Conversely, to get alarms on your reader, initiate the sensor with your FreeStyle Libre 2 reader. Once started with the reader, you can still scan this sensor with your phone.
It's important to note that the app and reader do not share data. To ensure you have comprehensive data, scan your sensor every 8 hours with the device you're using. Without regular scans, your reports may not reflect all your data. You can upload and view data from all your devices on LibreView.com.

Note that using the FreeStyle LibreLink app requires access to a separate blood glucose monitoring system, as the app itself does not provide this feature. Also, the alarms you receive do not include your glucose reading; you must scan your sensor to check your glucose level.
