Carplounge Autopilot / Raymarine Element App for RT7 & RT4 V4
Instead of using a conventional remote control for your BaitBoat, the Carplounge Autopilot system leverages the power of an Android tablet or smartphone. The essential software is freely available in the Google Play Store and is compatible with any Android device equipped with Bluetooth connectivity. The tablet communicates with the boat through a Bluetooth transmitter box, enabling complete control via an intuitive touchscreen interface. In manual mode, you can navigate the boat much like a standard BaitBoat, using the touchscreen to steer. The app displays the boat's position, route, and orientation (thanks to the compass function) on a map, which is continuously updated. Moreover, you can save and name promising fishing spots identified with the echo sounder using the built-in GPS, such as "jetty left", "spot 1", "home", etc.
When switched to autopilot mode, you can select and sequence points to form a route with specific actions (e.g., opening the left or right hatch, releasing bait, turning on lights, etc.).
Here's an example of how it works: 1.) Navigate to the "Sandbank" position and open the right hopper upon arrival. 2.) Proceed to "Spot 2" and open the left hopper there. 3.) Return to the fishing spot and flash the lights once. Once programmed, the boat can be loaded and will autonomously follow the route. An almost limitless number of spots and routes can be saved. With advanced measurement technologies like position and acceleration sensors, coupled with the latest GPS and compass technology, the boat can achieve route accuracy of 90% within 30cm!
The system also intelligently handles line tension during navigation, especially when deploying two rods to different spots simultaneously. If you tension one or both lines while the boat is moving, the onboard electronics detect this and adjust the boat's course to counteract the pull, ensuring it stays on a direct path to the target without unnecessary deviations that could cause line kinks.
The autopilot replaces the standard remote control of the boat, but we offer the option to connect a remote control to the autopilot. This allows you to choose between controlling the boat via your tablet or the remote control. For app control, all Android tablets with Bluetooth are supported, though our app is optimized for 10-inch tablets. You can directly steer the BaitBoat using the tablet's touchscreen.
The free app, accessible via the Google Play Store, will continue to evolve and expand through our ongoing development efforts. Automatic software updates through the Play Store ensure that new features, changes, and enhancements are quickly delivered without the need to return the autopilot or boat for servicing. The autopilot app updates automatically, similar to standard tablet/smartphone apps.
For use exclusively with the RT7 & RT4 V4.
